Nintendo Labo – First Look

Nintendo have just released a preview video of their upcoming add-ons to the incredibly successful Nintendo Switch, it is Nintendo Labo.  The Switch has recently been touted as the fastest selling games console in history, with over 4.8 million being sold in the first ten months.

Continuing Nintendo’s tradition of eschewing raw processing power for a more innovative gaming experience they have now announced Nintendo Labo, which gives the term “thinking outside of the box” an entirely new meaning…

Releasing on April 20th 2018 the Nintendo Labo takes the functionality of the Switch further by incorporating high density DIY build cardboard constructions to make interactive build and play items. It’s a gateway into simple robotics. At launch there will be two packs available, a variety kit which makes a fishing rod, a house, a piano, a motorbike and 2 rc cars.  There is also a Robot Kit which constructs an exoskeleton! Both kits of course come the the relevant software for the Nintendo Switch to bring the constructions to life.

Both kits look like a heap of fun for kids and start at $69.99 for the Variety Kit.

Pre-Ordrering of Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Nintendo Labo Robot Kit is available on Amazon.com
